Grande Ronde Model Watershed – Wallowa Baker Restoration Fish Passage Project

Fish Passage ProjectSLC was awarded the Wallowa River – Baker Restoration Fish Habitat and Riparian Enhancement Project by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Grande Ronde Model Watershed in November 2016. Construction began in February of 2017 and completed in July 2017.

The goal of the project was to create new river channel and floodplain area adjacent to the existing Wallowa River. Approximately 12,800 cubic yards of material was excavated during the project. Large wood structures for bank protection and future fish habitat were also installed.
